Done with: MySpace/Friendster

I’ve made the cut. Along with unsubscribing to a shockingly large
number of newsletters in my personal email account, I’ve canceled both
my MySpace and Friendster accounts. I’ve had them for some number of
years and they’ve lied fallow in comparison to my activity on Facebook.

I have some friends that are primarily active on MySpace or Friendster,
but maintaining updates on both of them was just really more than I
wanted to do. So we’ll see how all this works out. I’m still on
last.fm, Facebook (of course), flickr, dopplr, fireeagle, etc etc, but
the sites that were primarily a personal profile have been
consolidated. Ahhh.

I’m kinda done with LOST.

Enough already. Every week is a plot twist.

Every week is something new we learn about them. I get it. We’re going to keep going on like this. Its going to do the same thing that Alias did. Build up over and over again and then have a totally lame ending.

I wanted to know what the island was. Why it was special. What the black smoke was. Whats the deal with Ben and all the Darhma people. But now, enough already.

Here is the synopsis of every future episode of LOST:
Introduce a new mystery. Don’t solve an old one. Closing credits.

OK I get it.

How about this. How about we make a really great 1 or 2 season show that doesn’t stick around past its expiration date. I’d be totally cool not knowing anything about the island if they wrapped things up in season 3 even. But lord - they’ve got them back at home now an the whole “Oceanic 6″ thing. PLEASE.

SNL: “The Six Year Old”

Jonah Hill plays a six year old that sounds like a Catskills comic. Brilliant.

“Sort Of”

“Sort of” is the new “like”.

Listen for it.

Movie Review - “All About Eve”

At the insistence of my neighbor I watched “All About Eve” tonight. Here is my review:

It was interminable.

That is all.

Fluffer?

Hmmm

Something tells me that the owner of this car didn’t know what else “fluffer” means…

The cat on the hat

Sophie found out that my head is higher than my shoulder, and that my hat gives her just enough support to have a rest.

The Kittie Cats are here!

As of a week ago the kittie cats are here. They are two white Devon Rex cats, both girls, named Sophie and Josie, after my grandmothers.

Here they are, Sophie on the left and Josie on the right:

She found the cushion Josie's Close-up

They are 3 months old and other than a slight heart murmur, which is common up until about 1 year old, the vet says they are nice and healthy.

They love to play and they have a great time with each other. This breed loves to be held, and really loves to climb:

Devons love to climb

They’ve been living in the same space since they were born, so at night they can usually be found snuggling up with each other:

Sleeping

They love to chase after the feathers-on-a-wand toy and we have a lot of fun getting exercise with it. They’ve also made it all the way up to the near the top of the cat tree, which is no small accomplishment for little girls this small.

Their personalities are still forming. When I first picked them up Sophie was clearly the more dominant and intrepid one. That seems to have flipped a bit now. Josie was first to climb all the way up the cat tree and Sophie has only followed her up most of the way. Josie also seems to have more energy than Sophie and usually tries to wake her up when she’s trying to go to sleep.

So far it’s been great to have them. They play when I’m here and mostly sleep when I’m gone. On the weekend they’ll play a whole lot and then they’ll start to slow down - shortly they’ll be finding the best place for a nap. That usually starts out on my lap. When they get sleepy I’ll put them someplace more comfortable (for me :-)
Snuggled up

The breed is also quite peculiar in that they’ve been known to play fetch. They haven’t been quite as consistent since, but here is a video of Sophie fetching one of those crinkly mylar balls.
