Orbit gum has had that packaging for years already, so I guess their patent ran out. I don't like it at all though, try keeping those bad boys in their little clamshell when you have it stuffed into your purse or man-bag along with a million other things. Suffice it to say, my cell phone and wallet smell like gum. And I have all these pieces of gum that are unchewable because they are covered with bottom-of-the-bag-crud.

When its open, it certainly does look like a box. However, when its closed (or before its been opened for the first time) it looks like its always looked.
