Trident’s got a brand new bag
Well, not a bag, but new package. I bought some yesterday. It looked like the standard package:
until I noticed the “EZ Close Pack” label. I turned it around and saw this:
(OK, this is a shot from after its been opened, but you get the idea). It closes like a cereal box. You slide the cardboard edge into the slot to keep it from popping up. But otherwise it looks like the standard package. So what does it look like when its open?
It opens up like a clamshell. Pretty neat.

When its open, it certainly does look like a box. However, when its closed (or before its been opened for the first time) it looks like its always looked.

Orbit gum has had that packaging for years already, so I guess their patent ran out. I don’t like it at all though, try keeping those bad boys in their little clamshell when you have it stuffed into your purse or man-bag along with a million other things. Suffice it to say, my cell phone and wallet smell like gum. And I have all these pieces of gum that are unchewable because they are covered with bottom-of-the-bag-crud.
